Is data worth more than oil?

After a long hiatus, I’m trying to bring back Thoughts on Business. Rather than my ambitious one-post-a-day goal, I’m opting for a more realistic once a week.

This week’s post comes at the intersection of data and law. The Economist argues that The world’s most valuable resource is no longer oil, but data. It’s an interesting read discussing how data has become such a powerful force in the business world and how regulators are, to a large extent, unprepared for measuring monopolies in this context.
