Supply chain managers are tasked with getting the right product to the right place at the right time. While this may seem simple enough in theory, there are many challenges to achieving this goal. Trying to force the Western European/North American model of distribution in emerging markets just isn’t working. This McKinsey Quarterly article looks at how we can alter our strategies to bridge the last mile of emerging market supply chains. I am a fan of McKinsey Quarterly in general and this report certainly doesn’t miss the mark. A must read for all.
