For a couple weeks in May/June I’ll be traveling with a group of students to a small community outside of Cochabamba, Bolivia. We’ll (they’ll?) be building a bridge to make travel to/from the community easier and safer. The students will be there for five weeks as part of Bridges to Prosperity. In addition to physically building the bridge, they have been key in designing the bridge (under the supervision of a professional engineer). My job for the limited time I am on the ground is to make sure all the Penn State risk management policies are followed which seems like a good job for a business prof on a construction site.
At any rate, these students are paying out of their pocket for the opportunity to do weeks of manual labor. If you can support them in any way, I’d greatly appreciate it: http://c-fund.us/et6
