This is quite possibly the coolest idea I’ve seen in a long time. Some Android mobile phones now have atmospheric sensors to help pinpoint a user’s location. Atmospheric scientists are putting this to use to collect a huge database of real-time barometric pressure and will some day be able to use it to improve forecasts. I don’t know what else to say about this one. Anyone with an Android should download the app and start contributing now.
